Who is the Leadership of Anchor House and how are you structured? |
| |
| |
Dr. Michael Staples serves as the Executive Director of Anchor House and reports to an active, participatory board that assumes a high level of involvement and oversight over the various areas of ministry. |

Who is Anchor House trying to help? |
| |
| |
We reach out to boys aged 10 – 17 who are facing difficult challenges in their life. Some of the boys come from private referred families and some are from the foster care system in the state; some of the boys have been classified as homeless. For many, we are the last hope before they may find themselves in a lock down situation. |

What services do we offer? |
| |
| |
Anchor House offers counseling services on site and also coordinates off site counseling. In addition to this our Youth staff teaches the boys, accountability, responsibility and independence. We offer devotions on site and a spiritual training; we also hold classes for independent living skills training. |

Where do the boys go to school? |
| |
| |
Every child receives an individual assessment to determine the best academic course of action. Our children attend various schools including public schools, adult education and trade schools. |

How does Anchor House meet its budget? |
| |
| |
Anchor House relies primarily on the donations of churches, individuals and some regular ongoing gifts of charitable foundations like Publix Charities, Lakeland Community Foundation, Encourage Inc. and others. |

Does it cost to place a child at Anchor House? |
| |
| |
All private facilities charge tuition. Anchor House is one of the most competitively priced facilities and charges private referred clients at its top tier $ 1200 per month. This is a heavily subsidized rate through scholarship funds raised through churches, individuals and foundations. In addition to this, family income is considered on a sliding scale and further scholarships may be considered to help in some instances. |

Do you need and can you use volunteers? |
| |
| |
We are in need of many volunteers who would help us in the office, answering phones, transporting boys, working on the grounds, serving as “big brothers or as sponsors” and planning activities for the boys. |
